Isabel Guerra graduated magna cum laude with a BA degree in Legal Studies with a minor in Political Science. As a first-generation college student, Isabel’s goal in life was to use her education to help other people, and as an old soul herself, she had a heart to help our elders.
She decided after college to attend Stetson University College of Law. It was in Trusts and Estates that Isabel’s professor recognized her hard work and dedication to elders, influencing her professor’s decision to persuade Isabel to apply to Stetsons Veterans Advocacy Clinic. Isabel was accepted into the clinic and fell in love with helping our nation’s veterans.
She handled several cases at the VA Agency level, pouring hundreds of pro bono hours into advocating for clients, and sometimes, she was just lending an ear to those who needed someone to listen. Isabel was such a hardworking and passionate advocate that she was chosen to represent a veteran at the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims in her final semester of law school, an opportunity only given to one other student that semester. Isabel’s passion for helping those who need it most, our veterans, brought her to Jackson & MacNichol to continue her journey.
In her free time, Isabel enjoys spending as much time as she can with her three dogs and her family, traveling to different countries, and sometimes just watching a good show, particularly, The Golden Girls.
